What to see in Mazara del Vallo
Sea, boats, wind, salt pans, sport — and a few ideas that are not the usual ones.
Go out to sea, see Mazara from the fishermen’s side and, when it is running, take part in the fishing itself. There are sunset trips too.
Windsurf, kitesurf or wingfoil: at Puzziteddu there is a school, rental and someone on hand — including for people starting from nothing.

Hire a bike and follow the lagoon, between salt pans, windmills and water. An easy half day, and the right one if you would rather not book a tour.
To understand how salt was — and still is — produced in the lagoon. The guided visit continues on foot into the pans.
Some days do not need organising.
Go early. The sea can change a great deal through the day, and in the morning, when it is calm, it is another thing entirely.

Bring water, a towel and whatever else you need. People come here for the landscape, and to be a little away from the beach clubs.
About 15 minutes by car.
Rocks and small coves. Less suited to small children; better for teenagers and adults.
Nothing to arrange: just go out when the sun starts to drop.
Go into the lanes and keep going with no particular destination. It is the simplest way to find it.
